Send a Letter

Once a letter is created, you have two ways to send it: download it as a PDF for manual mailing, or send it automatically through LetterStream.

Option 1: Download as PDF
Click the download icon next to the letter to save it as a PDF. You can then print and mail it yourself.

Option 2: Send via LetterStream

1. Start the request
Click the send icon next to the letter to open the Send Letters window.

2. Review and edit the details

  • Recipient: comes predefined with the addresses of the 3 major bureaus (Transunion, Experian, Equifax), but can be edited if needed.

  • Return Address: choose whether the return address is the Client's or the Company's. It auto-fills from the corresponding profile information.

  • Mail Type: choose between:

    • Certified without Electronic Return Receipt — estimated delivery 2–5 business days, includes a USPS tracking number and delivery confirmation.

    • First Class — estimated delivery 1–5 business days, a low-cost option for general use that does not include tracking.

  • Print and Double Sided options can also be adjusted.

3. Calculate cost
Click Calculate Cost. This sends a request to the LetterStream API and returns the real cost of sending the letter based on your selections.

4. Confirm and send
Review the cost and click Send to confirm. This action cannot be undone once sent, and the cost is deducted from your company's wallet.

5. Track the letter's status
Once sent, you can check the letter's delivery status at any time:

  • Letters sent via LetterStream show their current delivery status.

  • Letters sent with a mail type that includes a tracking number show the full step-by-step tracking history.
